If we focus more on what unites us rather than what divides us,
if we focus more on what binds us rather than what separates us,
if we focus more on what pushes us towards being one rather than being pulled away to be spread out,
We can build a word where no one will live in fear.
Staying together gives us a sense of security. It’s not about being together with a person all the time, but rather knowing that the person will be there for you whenever you need help the most.
The day all of the humanity unites to solve world problems, it is the day we’ll become undefeated.
Tolerance towards others starts with acceptance of oneself.
People who develop stereotypes forget to include exceptions. It feels good to have symmetrical patterns or trends without the glitches in between. But it is that asymmetry that makes the design unique.
Imagine you’re in a boat with some people. All of a sudden you notice a hole in the center of the boat from where water is leaking in to the boat slowly. You warn the others. They all ignore your warnings, saying that it’s nothing to worry about. So what do you do? You remain ignorant or start throwing out the water and fix the hole?
This is something which is happening today. Whether it is on the global scale like climate change or maybe something in your locality which needs fixing. There are some people who remain ignorant, while others do something to bring change.
There’s no way to just save the right people and just let the ignorance perish away. When we see some people not contributing to a group, we get frustrated and stop working altogether hurting everyone’s chances in long run.
All you could hope is your efforts will change people’s mind and melt their hearts.
Humans are much closer to each other biologically than they are different culturally. And yet our differences predict the outcome more often than our unity.
There some people who we can understand easily. And there are some people who are just too tough to be understood. The latter kind is the one we tend to ignore or dislike. But should we?
I believe that it is okay to have an opinion about everything and everyone. But only when you have thorough information as basis. Otherwise your own thoughts become an illusion to you.And then you end up becoming the one too tough to be understood, ignored or disliked.
I hope people unite for common good rather than against a common enemy.
The intention to stay together is true when it comes from within and not when forced upon us by an external force.
We are occupied by our personal problems so much that we sometimes forget that there exists an even bigger problem.
Who knows, maybe solving that bigger problem is the way to solve all of our small problems.
