Freedom is about having a choice. But I think it should exclude harming oneself or another.
Well not harming others is obvious. It becomes chaotic when there’s fight between people. The more violence, the more tendency towards lawlessness.
About oneself, keeping sanity or insanity of the mind, one may debate about suicide or euthanasia.I don’t think they are about ‘harming’ oneself,it is more like the person’s will to be relieved from pain. It’s absurd that societies criminalise these practices because the real problem does not lie in the action itself but the reason why such action is taking place. If everything was okay why would the person take such a step? I think these problems can be better solved by modifying our society, not our laws.
People do things for a reason. As long as they don’t harm others or self that reason is valid.
When you harm someone to get what you want you abandon your humanity (which is not great thing to do as a human is it?).We are not animals,or rather we are not primitive. We have higher order thinking, just use it and you don’t need to harm anyone.
When it comes to harming oneself that’s a bit trickier to breakdown. Many people believe that life is sacred. And that totally makes sense because life is so unique in our world,in our universe. But doesn’t a sacred life deserves the right dignity? Harming oneself without having control on oneself is a call for help and we should help. But making a decision to take away your life after trying everything out is different.A person who has tried everything they could and still not feel like they should live, should be let go.Death doesn’t have to bad it is just a choice.Whether or not that choice is regretted is a consequence for that person to bear.We can only hope to do our best to help them as long as we can.But I guess if we try our best nobody needs to go away in the end. There’s always a way out,no matter how unlikely the possibility.
Food is a necessity, not a luxury. Unfortunately,IT IS BEING SPENT like a luxury.
When you have two kinds of people existing simultaneously: One who is going to gym to burn the extra calories they just consumed and one who is barely eaten anything in days. You know that balance is no more present.
Unless you labor, you forget the value of things. And labor here doesn’t mean to earn – but to survive. It does not mean you give up your work for the day to push yourself to the edge, but be grateful and efficient in your decisions – live like this world is your own and you’re going to be here forever – might as well preserve it.
Acknowledging differences between people is good. But discriminating is not.Discrimination shows up when we label those differences as superior or inferior.Everyone is different because one person can’t do everything. We fill in for each other where the other cannot. It is about teamwork. How can you discriminate against someone who’s on your team?
You can’t drag someone down without lowering yourself below them. You can’t kick someone down from above without stopping at your own path of growth. If it’s their loss, then it is also you own. That’s what happens in a team.
There’s a tradeoff between acknowledging new ideas and sharing new ideas. Both cannot exist without each other. Our democracy wouldn’t exist without them.If you can’t be tolerant to other people’s ideas, you cannot share your idea freely. You don’t have to accept everything, just learn to respect everyone’s freedom and opinion.Their experience of life has been very different from yours. They weren’t born with an ideology, they chose it along the way due to the circumstances. If their view has a tendency to harm others, then change their circumstances.Trying to change their belief will only lead to resistance. You have to remove corruption from its roots.Because shorenting a plant will only drive it grow further and further for survival.
Living in fear deprived of freedom is worse than death itself.
Help people thinking that if you were in their place then you would want them to help you too.
It’s a valuable investment that they’ll never forget or you will never regret.
