Darkness is not just absence of light. It’s also absence of hope.
Freedom is about having a choice. But I think it should exclude harming oneself or another.
Well not harming others is obvious. It becomes chaotic when there’s fight between people. The more violence, the more tendency towards lawlessness.
About oneself, keeping sanity or insanity of the mind, one may debate about suicide or euthanasia.I don’t think they are about ‘harming’ oneself,it is more like the person’s will to be relieved from pain. It’s absurd that societies criminalise these practices because the real problem does not lie in the action itself but the reason why such action is taking place. If everything was okay why would the person take such a step? I think these problems can be better solved by modifying our society, not our laws.
Do not cope but live life.
Don’t think twice. You already invested a lot of time when you were thinking the first time. The second time will just exhaust your mental faculty and make yourself doubt you.Not to say you don’t need to proofread. And not to say haste cannot be a waste. If you made a decision first time with every resource available, then that was the best decision. Our resources keep on improving so it may feel like you made a wrong decision when in fact you made the best decisions under the given situation. It’s the doubt in you that kills future creativity.Doubt things around you to update your thinking.
The next generation will always surpass the previous generation (isn’t that the point of evolution)? But how much better they become than us depends on us.A tiny fraction or a vast mile.Place yourself in their shoes and ask yourself “Do I wish that my previous generation worked hard more or put in more energy to bring me more knowledge and more happiness in life? To make world a better place for all for good?” I certainly feel that way.Do you?
If you are concerned about what other people would think of what you do before even you start doing it – then just forget about getting started at all.
God is like an imaginary friend we all have to soothe us.Problems arise when people start killing real people for the sake of their imaginary friend which is only a factor of their imagination. So they are not killing for someone else but for their own sake and just blaming others. If that friend really exists and asks you to do this then it’s a friend not worth having.Might as well cooperate with those around you and put an end to cruelty.Human mind is not fit enough to handle the concept of god – which is not a bad concept in itself since it gives us a friend for life.
Life is a venture written by various authors – by you,by those around you and by the destiny itself.Everyone writes in secrecy their own tale and surprises the other with their own twist.
You cannot stop the others from writing their own thoughts (and you shouldn’t); but what you can do is fill your content with the best dreams you ever had and hope for the greatest possible adventure ever.
Create your own happiness and expect the world to throw its worst at you.
Some people crave relief only after they experience pain. They don’t ask for help until they reach their breaking point.Because either they are just too scared to face the unintended consequences that resistance brings,or they are just too brave to face it all alone out of love for someone.
I recently read about a clinical case.It was about a patient who smoked regularly and slept while sucking at a pacifier in mouth. He went to a therapist thinking that a session of hypnosis was needed for him to get out of these habit. The therapist knew that hypnosis wasn’t going to work out based on the data gathered in previous similar studies. But he did it anyways to put his client’s mind at ease.
Surprisingly,it worked! Keeping aside the controversial debate on the effectiveness of hypnosis, this case shows that the patient’s belief in a cure regardless of the evidence that backed it outweighed the therapist’s expertise and previous established case studies. Thus, what patient believed mattered more to the treatment than what therapist’s experience said would work.
Power of belief can turn even poison into medicine. No matter how good your current treatment is,if you don’t believe in it,then you’re bound to lose. But if you take every hardship in life as a blessing in disguise, you’ll be the winner of all.
