Critical appraisal

Repetition of an event does not necessarily strengthen our belief in it. Just because something occurs more than once doesn’t really mean it is the truth.

A repetition in a sense is not a true replication. A repetition comes along with slight variations, some which we don’t even notice. And those small changes should make us more cautious and critical of our beliefs.

When we ignore those variations and continue affirming our beliefs, that is dogma. Nothing is more detrimental to pursuit of knowledge than a dogmatic perspective. Being critical is what makes you creative.
